The basement was originally the kitchen of this traditional town house, and many interesting elements have been preserved. We offer a large selection of antique pottery, kitchen tools and other antique artefacts.

when you enter the shop, on the left the antiques room can be found, with an amazing collection of original old textyiles from all over the world, including dowry embroideries, handwoven pillowcases and rugs, and pieces of traditional costumes.
icons, rugs, tools
We have a beautiful collection of hand painted icons, some old, some new. The older pieces dating from the early twentieth century are allowed to be exported.For antique icons this is forbidden.

in the show cases many old pieces are displayed. There is a collection of coins, rare belt buckles, as well as wooden objects.
some African art blended in to the beautiful ethnic collection
On his trips to Africa, Mr. Varsakis has found some beautiful African fabrics and wooden objects that blend in beautifully with the rest of this collection.
koboloi
Koboloi are the beads on a chain you will see many Greek men tossing and turning in their hands. Not so much a religious object as one to keep the hand busy.
oil lamps
On the ceiling these beautiful antique church oil lamps can be found hanging down. In them goes a glass with oil, on which a cork with a wick floats to give the mystical candle light that is so characteristic for the Greek Orthodox churches.
clasps and buckles
The red tableau displays some beautifully decorated buckles that were part of a traditional outfit.
aprons and wedding jewelry
A beautiful range of aprons, some embroidered with gold wire, and jewelry, which were part of the Greek traditional costumes.

The front part of the antiques room has beautiful windows that give extra character and atmosphere to the building.
basement room
Here the old kitchen is preserved and offers the background for an amazing collection of antique pottery, copperware and wooden objects.
sitting area
There is a little sitting corner, decorated in the old fashioned style, with traditional pillows and wooden decorations, to give an impression of the old days.
rugs and kilims
Mr. Varsakis has brought together an amazing collection of antique and old hand woven kilims and rugs, not only from Greece, but from all over the world.
old ceramic pots
The fun element about old pots is that they are actually old tupper ware. The pots were used for storage of foods, water and oil, and had a practical use.
jewelry room
The center piece of the jewelry room is the wooden case with an absolutely amazing collection handmade jewelry in 22 karat gold.Most are copies from famous museum pieces.

The jewelry room has an original fireplace that makes a lovely background and gives character to this bedazzling room.

In various show cases different collections of jewelry can be found in silver, gold, and the characteristic mixture of silver and gold that Greek gold smiths so craft-fully produce.

The central case displays 22k golden jewelry of amazing detail and of unequaled quality.

When we decided to renovate the galery, we aimed at creating a mixture of the old and the new, and decided to leave the ground floor in the antique spirit, and choose a modern style for the top floor,
walls full of paintings
The paintings all have their own spot and can be appreciated with the glow of the modest light that accentuates the gold leaf used for background in many of them.

The collection covers the beginning of Mr. Varsakis work, in the sixties, up until today, a collection covering 50 years of work.
plexiglass
We have begun with printing some of the paintings on Plexiglas cubes, resulting in a beautiful small piece of art, that lets the light through and enriches the image in a surprising way.

A beautiful collection of watercolor painted images, is stored in this precious hand-carved wooden cradle. Again one beautiful detail in the art section.

All the paintings are original, but reproductions of supreme quality can be bought in various sizes. The paintings are all displayed individually in the paintings section on this site.
